Venezuela-- Over the years, the CIA has provided funding and resources to opposition groups in Venezuela. This includes financial support for political activities aimed at undermining the government. The reason is to protect the wealthy US businessmen interests, such as oil, has been a significant factor in U.S. foreign policy towards Venezuela.
President Zelensky told Trump that the reason they arenβt having elections in Ukraine is because of the war. Trump replied that he might have to try that. MAGA canβt win the election unless they out gerrymander the Democrats. I think he believes that if weβre at war he can cancel the elections. If not for midterms, for sure in 2028. What are we going to do about him?
That is my thought as well. trump has been creaming his jeans trying to start a war someplace, anyplace. He tried using ice to start a civil war here in the states, but that didn't work, since frogs have no weaponry.
Then trump tried blowing up fishing boats in INTERNATIONAL waters, claiming they were "drug boats" without any intel or proof. Yet, Venezula did not declare war on the US. So now he is just going to start one for no real apparent reason, and without anyone asking us for help.
He desperatly wants to claim he is a war president, and being able to take over all the mineral and oil rights in V is a bonus. He also thinks (wrongly) that we would not hold elections during an active war, but we have done this many times in the past.
Lastly, please do NOT believe he wants V's oil fields to reduce the cost of oil for the US. It of course would make a LOT of money for the oligarchs and oil corporations, and of course also the trump family though. But will never be passed along to the everyday consumer.
Thank you for discussing this critical topic. Charles and David Koch were large funders of Trump, as well as other fossil fuel giants. They knew that he was a "useful idiot" for a repeat try at military and political dominance in Latin America. I've noticed just this week that the price for gasoline at the pump went up sharply since last week in my large city. That is just one hook to get the American consumer on their side to be desperate enough to want cheap gas. A month of inflated gasoline prices will PO consumers and then they could be propagandized into the "need" for more oil.
I've seen this before and it never works as well as they think. You know what they say about bullies? They get something and then they always want more.
I'll add one more thing: the Cuban "refugees" in Florida were the uber-wealthy who fled Cuba to escape the left wing government which saw the need to redistribute the wealth. Not dissimilar to our own surging economic inequality. Resentment against that has been simmering in FL ever since and Rubio is a prime example.
It's just another example of neo-colonialism and empire-building. Maria Machado is just another Juan Guaido, the corrupt shill they tried to install in the last US coup in Venezuela. Except that she has Nobel credentials and looks purer.
This is a time to be extremely skeptical and cynical, folks. Do everything we can to oppose this expensive, deficit-building, ego dream and grift!
Thank you Micah!

I hear what the USA wants are it's minerals and other precious money making raw materials like oil. Anything to make money
Well, when you appoint an unqualified sociopathic kook, and rename the Department of Defense the Department of War, there's bound to be a war.
