Leader Hakeem Jeffries joins The Siren Podcast to discuss the potential government shutdown and Trump’s unwillingness to even begin talks with Democrats about making a deal.

Donald Trump and the Republican party control the White House, the House of Representatives, and the Senate. But that hasn’t stopped him from trying to blame the looming government shutdown (as usual) on Democrats.

The reason? Democrats want to fund healthcare and hospitals for Americans, and Republicans don’t want to because they’re bought and paid for by billionaires.

Since Trump canceled his meeting with Jeffries and Schumer via tweet, Democrats have been back in DC- but the whereabouts of Republicans remains a mystery, in part because Speaker Mike Johnson canceled upcoming votes with the hope of avoiding the Epstein files, which Democrats now have the votes for.

All this and more, right here on The Siren Network.
