This week, Maggie Gehlsen-Burnett and Mallory Hagan are joined by Doug Jones to discuss his campaign for Governor of Alabama, and the practical steps he plans to take to make healthcare, education, and reproductive rights accessible and protected. They also discuss the vital role of civic engagement and the next generation of voices in shaping our democracy.
U.S. Senator Doug Jones is a prosecutor, attorney, and lifelong Alabamian whose career has been defined by fighting for justice and finding common ground. Before serving in the Senate, Doug earned national recognition as the U.S. Attorney who successfully prosecuted two of the men responsible for the 1963 bombing of Birmingham’s 16th Street Baptist Church, helping bring long-overdue justice to the victims and their families nearly four decades later. In the Senate, he built a reputation as a pragmatic, bipartisan leader focused on expanding healthcare, strengthening voting rights, supporting working families, and growing Alabama’s economy. Now, he’s once again making the case for a politics that puts people over partisanship by running to represent my great state, Alabama. Please welcome Doug Jones.
