At a time when Dems had the cards ,because of tragic deaths in MN , the Dems gave them away with this "deal". In two weeks all will be forgotten and we will get nothing. 45 called Schumer to WH not to avert a shut down but he sees the way elections are going and his numbers. Now he is flaunting these plans for our 250th celebration, building and renovating more. Reminds me of what Roman emperors did to appease the masses.
My you're a busy girl! Sen. Blumenthal is a good man. But, like many of his Democratic Senate colleagues, he doesn't seem to grasp the urgency of the moment. There's no way in Hell that they should have made a deal with these monsters. In my opinion, they're negotiating all of their leverage away. Why play by the rules when your opponents have none? Reforms around the edges just don't cut it. This entire government needs to be totally recalibrated. It's the only way. I hope he and his colleagues will think hard about that.
