I've mixed feelings about the entire thing. I can understand why you're so frustrated and invested personally as well.
I believe that what is happening now in Iran is tragic. I can recall when our government betrayed the youth led Arab Spring in Iran, instead, militarily reinstalling the Shah. It made me sick to my stomach. I adore Iranian culture, films, and food. The US could enrich ourselves so much with Iranian diversity.
Our CIA has been meddling there for many, many years. They likely played Trump's instrument of encouragement for the protests. I think we ought to launch the CIA into the sun.
Israel also is a huge, dangerous player in this drama, having attacked Iran before recently. They are always looking for excuses to do it again for their own personal aggrandizement in the ME. They scare the hell out of me and with Bibi leading DJT on, it could end up in WWIII.
No one wants another exhausting war, except for the Pentagon, the arms dealers and military contractors. But I don't see any sign of ability or desire to negotiate, as the Obama administration did so brilliantly w/re to the nuclear deal.
There is NO excuse for the mass killing. But there should be mass condemnation from the world, instead of turning heads away like we have done w/re to Palestine.
The regime in Iran is a lot more crazy than the Trump regime, and they have nuclear weapons now, I believe. Can Trump kidnap the leader and his wife in Iran, as he did the leader in Venezuela? I doubt it. I remember our previous involvement in Iran. The leaders of Iran are Nutcases, even more so than Republicans.
