BREAKING: Democrats Move to BLOCK Trump's Paramount Merger

Democrats are fighting back against Trump's wildly dangerous media merger.

The Ellisons, a family of notorious pro-Trump billionaires, are poised to take control of dozens of major media brands if their bid to purchase Warner Bros is successful.

Of course, this is all Donald Trump’s doing, after Trump publicly interfered with Netflix’s attempt at the merger. Trump has openly stated that he wants CNN in new hands, likely to provide him with favorable media coverage. Pete Hegseth, the clownish Defense Secretary, said during a press conference, “The sooner David Ellison takes over [CNN], the better.”

These types of mergers are plainly bad for the American people and for the entertainment industry, with the merger potentially stopping dozens of films and TV shows per year from being made, slicing job opportunities within the industry, eliminating competition between studios, and creating a massive consolidation of media entities within the United States. This merger, which has overtly political incentives and benefits for the current occupant of the White House and his allies, is extremely dangerous. One or two billionaires should not own and control all of the media we consume as a nation.

In fact, even Warner Bros. staffers do not want this deal to go forward. As Politico reported, a longtime worker at Warner Bros., joked that she and her colleagues have have a “praying-to-our-savior Rob Bonta text chain,” amid layoff fears. California Attorney General Rob Bonta and New York Attorney General Letitia James are working to block this merger from going forward.
