Donald Trump was just slapped with a major lawsuit from Capitol Police officers Harry Dunn and Daniel Hodges over his new Jan. 6 slush fund, which totals over $1.8 billion.
The officers claim Trump’s fund will be used to reward January 6th rioters and right-wing militia groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. And they’re not wrong. Already, the far-right media network OAN wants to seek money from this new Trump “anti-weaponization fund.” The recently pardoned and central figure of Jan. 6 Tina Peters said the fund was “great news.” And surely, as we write this article, more and more Jan. 6 rioters and insurrectionist groups are looking for a payday from the same federal government which they attempted to overturn.
This slush fund stems from the settlement of Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS, where he wanted U.S. tax dollars to go right into his bank account over supposed “harm.” Trump and his team completely controlled both sides of the negotiation, lawsuit, and settlement, leading to this new fund. You couldn’t be more corrupt if you tried.
