More than 2,700 No Kings protests occurred today in communities across the United States (and internationally). The current estimation of protestors is over 7 million people, making it the largest single day protest in American history.
Simply put, this is a massive accomplishment. If you took part in one of these protests, worked as a safety officer, or in any way helped to organize them, you should be very proud of yourself for helping to make American history today.
However, not everyone was so happy with millions of Americans taking to the streets to use their freedom of speech. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson had this to say: “This hate America rally that they have coming up for October 18? The antifa crowd, the pro-Hamas crowd, and the Marxists, they’re all gonna gather on the Mall. It is an outrageous gathering for outrageous purposes ... all this has gotta come to an end.”
The White House tried acting like the protests were inconsequential, responding to a CNN request for comment on the protests with, “Who cares?”
Well clearly, Donald Trump does, as the “Trump War Room,” (the official Trump campaign Twitter account), spent the day posting images and AI videos of Trump wearing a crown and robes resembling a monarch.
The energy is on our side, folks. We have them scared.
