It’s Wednesday, October 29th, which means we have just entered the 29th day of the Republican shutdown. As thousands of furloughed federal workers wait in line for food, Donald Trump is on vacation in Asia. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has shutdown the House of Representatives for five weeks now. There are no attempts at negotiations or compromise being made on the side of Republicans, even as Democrats in Congress still come into work everyday.
Recently, Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) said that Mike Johnson has “effectively dissolved” the House. And honestly, that might be the best way to put it.
On this episode of Pours and Perspectives, Harry Dunn is joined by Congressman Jason Crow from Colorado’s 6th Congressional District to discuss Trump’s authoritarian tendencies, the ongoing Russian-Ukraine conflict, the shutdown, and the question on everyone’s mind: Will the 2026 midterms happen?
