On Friday, Trump said the U.S. had “totally defeated” Iran. Like everything out of Trump’s mouth, that was a complete lie. In reality, his war in Iran is backfiring, and quickly.
Trump’s Iran War has resulted in moderate leaders in Iran being killed, with remaining moderates quickly losing power. Iran’s new Supreme Leader (also named Khamenei) is a mourning son whose wife, son, mother, and father were killed in U.S./Israeli strikes. The IRGC, the Iranian military, now rules the country, assuming near-total control over Iran’s security, politics, and economy. Iran state media is releasing videos of massive crowds of people chanting “Death to America,” with leaders promising revenge to Trump and America.
Oil prices have soared at an astonishingly high rate, and not just in America, but in the entire world. The Strait of Hormuz, the crucial trade route nestled between Gulf countries, has been shut down by Iran. The Trump White House was reportedly “surprised” by this development, because they are incompetent clowns. Iranian leaders have appeared on NBC News and American media to say there is “no point” in continuing peaceful negotiations with the United States.
All of this, obviously, is not good. In fact, it’s terrifying. But it’s the latest example of Trump’s radically impulsive, baffling decision making, and potentially his most dangerous, consequential action.
There is zero rational explanation as to why the U.S. decided to begin war with Iran, and if there is one, Trump and his goons certainly have not provided it. Instead, Trump is too busy wearing MAGA baseball hats to the dignified transfers of U.S. troops killed as a result of his war, and then using images of the ceremony in his fundraising emails (yes, this actually happened). This war has made America, and the world, much more dangerous than it was just one month ago.
