In a major rebuke of Donald Trump, the Iran War Powers resolution has officially passed the House of Representatives after Democrats forced a vote on the resolution. 4 Republicans, including Reps. Thomas Massie, Warren Davidson, Tom Barrett, and Brian Fitzpatrick, broke with Donald Trump and voted with the Democrats.
The Iran war, which has caused havoc domestically in the form of rising grocery prices and skyrocketing gas prices, is still ongoing. This comes after Donald Trump and his sycophants in the White House said the war would be a “small excursion.” Still, Trump is unable to admit that the war even is a war. The words and actions from him and his cabinet differ so greatly from a day to day basis, that most Americans have become numb to news about the war.
On any given day, a ceasefire could be in place, the war could be “ending soon,” or “is already over,” talks are beginning, and then end as fast as they started. It is not rare to hear Donald Trump profess the importance of his decision to attack Iran, and then in the same breath, say that he doesn’t care about the war or talks for peace.
