On this episode of Sane(ish), Jo is joined by Ron Filipkoswki to discuss how Democrats are gearing up for a massive 2026 electoral victory, and Ron’s newly-published account of the 500 Worst Things Trump Did in 2025.
As Ron discusses in today’s episode, he got tired of hearing conservative influencers prodding Democrats to give “three reasons” why they didn’t like Trump. He said, “Well, I could list, like, 500.” And that’s exactly what he did.
Jo and Ron also discuss the staggering amount of Republicans that are gearing up to announce their retirement plans ahead of the 2026 midterms. Currently, the number is up to 30, and Ron himself predicts that number will rise to 40 in another two months from now.
One of the likeliest reasons for the upcoming Republican exodus from Congress is the general consensus that Republicans are powerless members of a Congress that has completely abdicated all of its oversight capabilities over the Trump regime, which has exclusively governed through unilateral executive action while entirely bypassing the legislative branch.
In fact, Trump has privately said to allies that he is both “The speaker and the president.”
This, coupled with Republicans’ near-guaranteed electoral defeat come November 2026, alongside the slew of investigations into the illegal actions of this regime that will come with their loss, and being a Republican in Congress is the absolute last place you’d want to be.
