Jo and Tara also discuss Trump’s latest egregious attack on the 1st Amendment and his desire to clamp down on Democrats ahead of the midterms. This time, Trump and the FCC have directed CBS not to air their interview with Texas State Rep. James Talarico, a Democrat running in the Texas Senate Primary. Furthermore, Colbert says he was directed to not even mention that Talarico was a guest on the show, or that he was told not to air the segment, signaling that CBS under MAGA stooge Bari Weiss knows they are dead wrong.
However, Colbert did not bend the knee, devoting a portion of the show to documenting the censorship, and later posting the entire interview to his YouTube channel.
