Trump has officially fired DHS Secretary Kristi Noem via tweet and says Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma will takeover the job.
We spoke to Senator Ruben Gallego earlier today and got his breaking news reaction to Noem’s firing. Gallego says Noem wasn’t fired because of her disastrous leadership decisions at DHS, or the killing of two American citizens by ICE, or the daily unconstitutional and illegal arrests of legal permanent residents and U.S. citizens. It was because she embarrassed Donald Trump, and he got his feelings hurt.
And he’s completely correct. After every heinous action Noem committed, between murdering a sweet, innocent puppy, or having an affair with Corey Lewandowski onboard a private jet, or spending $200 million of taxpayer funds on a personalized ad campaign starring herself, or leading the illegal, unconstitutional invasion of U.S. cities with ICE, Trump axed her because she made him look bad.
Not only does this sum up the current state of the U.S., but it also says something about Trump’s insatiable ego. Kristi Noem couldn’t have gone soon enough.
